Dr, Li’s published studies has appeared journals such as Population Research and Policy Review, Rural Sociology and Public Health. Her current projects investigate educational and economic outcomes among racial/ethnic groups with a special focus on immigrant groups and Asian Americans. Her postdoctoral work at Baylor University was on social stratification in rural America. immigrants and she continues working on these areas. Her early research examined mental and physical health disparities among U.S. Li’s main research interests are health, education, immigration and social stratification, broadly speaking. in Sociology in 2011 from the University of Texas at Austin, where she also earned a Master’s degree in Statistics. ![]() Li was trained as a social demographer and graduated with her Ph.D. She is passionate about numbers and communication of numbers.ĭr. She serves as the in-house statistical research consultant and gives regular workshops on a variety of topics of quantitative methods to faculty, postdocs, students and research staff that are affiliated with Sociology. She also teaches advance graduate courses on quantitative analysis including multilevel modeling and longitudinal data analysis. Li teaches a statistical programming course to all the first-year Sociology graduate students in their first semester here at Rice. Jing Li is an adjunct associate professor and the Quantitative Methodologist in the Department of Sociology. ![]()
